This catalogue was issued as an edition of 1000 copies of which 800 were for private circulation hors
commerce. It was printed in Turin, Italy, on Garda Matt 200 gsm fine art paper by Komori 65 litho
presses in six colours. Black-and-white illustrations were printed in four colours. The typefaces used
in the body of the text are Sabon with titles set in Trajan and Poliphilus. The capitals and
embellishments are in Sabon.
Production by Allemandi & C., Fotomec Srl. and Tipo Stampa, Turin.
Binding executed by hand by Legatoria Cerutti, Turin.
The cover is bound in Garda Matt 135 gsm and laminated while the silk spine is blocked with an
estofado design by La Roldana derived from catalogue. no. 17. The cover illustration is San Benito de
Palermo by José Montes de Oca (cat. no. 18). The back cover is a detail from Alonso Cano’s
Inmaculada (cat. no. 6). The endpaper design is taken from the estofado decoration on José Risueño’s
Dolorosa (cat. no. 9). The eighteenth century Ftench map opposite the Foreword is reproduced
courtesy of The Map House, London.
The title page emblem, also used on the subtitle pages, is derived from a piece of Andalusian Baroque
ironwork.
